Now that London, New York, Paris and Milan have held fashion week, it’s time for Africa to take its place in the spotlight. Starting this week, Lagos (Nigeria) and South Africa will be holding fashion shows and events, live and virtual.
First up, Lagos Fashion Week kicks off Oct 27 and will feature many of Africa’s talented designers. This annual show was founded in 2011 and has since become one of the biggest fashion conventions of the country. Visit the website to get the extensive list of designers and read their profiles.
Starting Thursday, October 28th, South Africa’s AW’22 collection begins on the runway with Fashion Bridges, a collaboration between South Africa and Italy. The shows run over four days with the last culminating in Menswear. The event will feature the top 29 designers, while off runway events will showcase more designers.
