Don’t Let Coronavirus Break Your Confidence
Has your confidence plummeted during this difficult time? If so, you are not alone. With a heightened feeling of uncertainty and worldly turmoil, it would be hard to find someone not worried. But regardless of what you are going through (unemployment, loss, illness, etc.) or how you feel (depressed, uninspired, bored, etc.), don’t be too hard on yourself.
Here is a thought: As a society, we put a lot of weight on social constructs like careers, money, status, etc, and we are used to having things a certain way—our way. When those things start tumbling down or are taken away from us, we tend not to know how to cope. In turn, this leads us to reflect negatively upon ourselves, casting doubt and blame. When in reality life is never in our control.
If we are to make it through this hard time whole in body, mind, and spirit, then we need to break the habit of heaping stress upon ourselves. We have to have confidence in who we are. So, dig in deep during this time and renew yourself by thinking about who you are and what makes you unique. Once you realize this—your self-worth—you won’t need societal acceptance or monetary pleasures to prove your value.
